Traditional Debt Financing and Overdrafts
Fixed and floating loans and secured overdrafts are the traditional routes to corporate financing provided by commercial banks. On all applications to the finance provider a business plan which demonstrates the financial stability and the ability to service the debt needs to be provided. As with all financial instruments the assessment of the current gearing ratio will determine the availability of any debt funding.
After an initial assessment of the current financial status and taking into consideration the strategy and nature of the business a corporate finance strategy plan will be set in place which should be both proactive and challenging to the management team ensuring goal congruence with the business objectives.
Traditional Debt Funding can be used to address various scenarios including:
- Working Capital Management;
- Management Re-Organisation (MBO/MBI);
- Acquisition of Fixed Assets;
- Acquisition of Competitor or Supplier;
- Divestment of business nature.
