Private Investment Markets

There are a number of private exchanges similar in concept to OFEX/AIM but on a much smaller scale. They are not regulated but to offer or buy shares you do need an FSA regulated broker. The private exchanges are primarily targeted at new start & early stage business that has developed considerable IPR and aiming to raise under 100k pounds.

The advantage of a float in such a market is that you are not bound by any formal regulation, you do not have to appoint any new members to the board and the cost is considerably less expensive.

This type of exchange could be seen as an alternative to a Business Angel.
